Linea Pelle srl is one of the largest operations in Southern Italy in the distribution of premium leather and fabrics for manufacturers, upholsterers and craftspeople.
Our story
leather in our DNA.
Linea Pelle was founded in Altamura in 2001 out of the friendship and entrepreneurial spirit of two young partners, Paolo and Francesco. It started as an import-export business in furniture leathers; today we supply upholstered furniture manufacturers, upholstery workshops and craftsmen across Italy and abroad, with 465 colours always ready in stock.
Our job is choosing. Every month tanneries and suppliers offer us new articles: we study them in every detail, put them in our customers’ hands, and only when the market responds do they join the ready-to-ship range. Supplier and customer at the same table: it is the formula that saves time and puts the right proposal in front of you.
Over the years we have become accredited with selected Italian tanneries and we have chosen trusted mills for our fabrics. These relationships are the source of the continuity of supply, consistent quality and distributor prices that our customers find again with every reorder.
And when the material alone is not enough, we bring in the machines too: CAD cutting, laser engraving, perforation and made-to-order work, in our atelier in Altamura. Because a supplier is truly useful when it also helps you improve your product.

From 2001 to today
In Altamura, Paolo and Francesco start an import-export business in furniture leathers with foreign countries. Enterprise and complementary characters: these are the foundations of Linea Pelle, and they still hold today.
Upholstered furniture is changing and its makers need a supplier close at hand. The warehouse is born: a complete service, designed for the small craftsman as much as for large industry, where you find the material for everyday work and new ideas for your own product.
We choose to sell only leathers processed in Italy. The team grows, we move to larger premises and our first dedicated services are born: direct deliveries with our own vehicles and made-to-measure sample books.
Our Research and Development department is born. We buy the raw material directly and follow its transformation into finished leather together with our partner tanneries: this is how we design our own articles and colours, in line with furniture trends, and develop them with customers on their instructions.
A specialised graphic designer joins the company and the service grows: customised sample books, colour cards and displays, up to turnkey projects for showrooms and fit-outs.
The first velvet, in modern shades, is an instant success. From there the range grows with on-trend fabrics chosen for furniture: today there are 19 collections alongside the leathers.
Machines arrive for CAD cutting, laser engraving and perforation to design, even on large surfaces. Logos, decorative patterns and technical parts become made-to-order work, from sample to series.
We are a point of reference for upholstered furniture manufacturers, upholsterers, architects and design studios, with a ready-to-ship warehouse and an atelier for bespoke work. With the same spirit as ever: listen, innovate, deliver value.
