Headboards and panels, room after room.
The fabric for headboards does little work but is highly visible: it is the surface guests look at first when they enter the room, and the one they lean back against. For the suites of a boutique hotel, headboards and wall panels were made in Vogue fabric, Perla colour.
Choosing a velvet for a headboard is aesthetic before it is technical: the iridescent surface changes tone with the light in the room, and the velvet’s “writing” effect gives depth to a panel that would otherwise be flat. The water-repellent treatment adds a safety margin on maintenance.
All the rooms were upholstered from the same batch: on a light colour like Perla, a difference between dye lots would show from one room to the next.
